Accha Alta Community

This design refers to a flower from the other side. According to the people of Rosaspata, a community in the region of Cusco, it draws its inspiration from wild flowers, and captures the moment when the sun begins to wither and appears to have two faces. They say this design is associated with the concept of a dual personality and with hypocritical people. It is used in huatos or straps used to hold monteras and chullos (hats) in place (Proyecto Corredor Puno-Cusco 2005).
